After seven years in Yoro, Patrick will be transitioning back to the United States this fall. While he will continue to make periodic visits to Honduras to oversee projects on the ground, his focus will turn toward program development and fundraising as NutriFund continues to grow its operations in combating malnutrition in Honduras.
Building local, on-the-ground leadership is vital to our mission combating childhood malnutrition. It empowers the local community to think critically about our programs and identify what is working and what is not. For that reason, Nahin George was hired as the Executive Director at San Yves in January of this year. He will be responsible for all operations at the nutrition center.
Nahin is Honduran and grew up in a small rural community about 30 minutes from the town of Yoro. He joins San Yves after serving as principal at a local high school for low-income students from rural communities in the region. He brings with him extensive first-hand knowledge of the people and the needs that exist in Yoro.
From Nahin:
“I feel incredibly honored for the opportunity to serve my community in this way. The children supported at San Yves are often the poorest, most forgotten members of our community and desperately need our attention. I’m excited to build upon the work being done here as we continue to grow, providing nutritional support for children in the most difficult to reach regions of our department.”
