Introduced by the United Nations in 1954, Children’s Day promotes “international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children's welfare.” In September we celebrated Children’s Day, along with the rest of Honduras - which celebrates it in a major way. Every city, school, and family celebrate. For most kids, it is practically a second Christmas.
Like everyone else in Honduras, the kids at San Yves dressed up, ate a special meal that included pizza, cake and soda (rarities at a place that focuses on nutrition), played games, received gifts, and finished everything off with a piñata filled with candy. Check out some pics from the day here!
